Blowin' In The Wind

I started out with a piece of card which had been used to test out a couple of ink sprays, ultramarine and cyan I think. Over the top of this I layered torn pieces of inky paper towel in blues and greens until I was happy with the colour. I then laid a homemade sunburst stencil over the top and lightly sprayed through it to. I took a dandelion/ flower stqamp that I had picked up at a car boot sale and used that to stamp randomly over the page. I liked the placement of the more central stamp and decided to make this my focal point.I outlined the sun rays with india ink before I added more layers of inky paper towel in slightly darker colours so that they would still be visible through the tissue and have a more faded, muted feel. I added some more stamping with Tim Holtz grunge stamps, adding more to the edges to help darken them. I used an ink pad to darken the edges and lightly took it over parts of the image where it caught on the raised pattern on the tissue adding more texture. Finally I picked out some of the spots in white or silver gel pen.
