Keep Calm And Carry On

This page started with the leftover paint from the previous project having been randomly smeared over the page. I mixed a darker brown and stamped over the background in places with a grungy bubblewrap stamp. I used a mesh stamp and permanent ink to create the partial frame and finished it off with a thick line of inktense applied dry and then wetted and then blended until I was happy with the effect. I used a map stamp in the top left corner of the resulting window and a checkerboard stamp along the bottom edge. I cut the three circular geometric designs from a sheet of patterned paper and adhered them with medium. I then took various sized gear stamps and used them to link all the larger circles. I took two narrow cardboard tubes and used them to create the white circles which were then glazed with a pale blue paint mix. The leftover glaze was used to outline the larger circles and darken areas around the edges. I used a couple of stamps from a London collection to stamp the smaller circles with a postmark and the clockface of Big Ben. I used a white glaze to lighten the paler checkerboard squares and stamped the phrase with crown as my title. I finished off by using a black gel pen to outline the blue circles and some of the background circles within the 'window' to tie it all together.
