Vintage Jewellery Box

This box was created for my mother. She has a lot of vintage and shabby chic items in her house and I wanted to make something which would fit anywhere in the house. The outside of the box was first covered with a thin paper and the edges covered with a thin  strip of patterned tape. The inside of the box was first painted a dark brown against which I used a selection of pinks. The centre section of the lid was padded with wadding and strips of ribbon attached to hang earrings from. The ring/brooch section was made from card covered with felt and the remainder of the bottom of the box was lined with the same fabric that I had used on the lid. The lid was finished off with a couple of pieces of patterned paper with a punched border and pink, flat back pearls used for decoration. I finished off the outside of the box with a varnished vintage chipboard embelishment, a chipboard flower, coloured paper flowers and flat back pearls. The whole exterior was then covered with a coat of satin varnish to seal and protect it.
