A Womans Heart

This is the first half of my double page spread in my journal. The background arrows were applied with texture paste through a thin stencil to give a subtle texture to the background. Acrylic inks and gesso washes were applied to the background until I was happy with the effect. The heart was then drawn over the top and a gesso wash applied before I began to work on the heart itself. Two stamps were applied randomly to the background in permanent brown ink, a music stamp and a text stamp. Acrylic inks and Inktense blocks were used to colour the heart before the text and black stamping was applied. I finished the background with some more stamping before doodling over the whole piece with white and gold gel pens. Mixed media on paper, A4.
